Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is magnetic technology with radio waves to produce computer generated images of the body's soft tissue. During an MRI examination or test, atoms in your body respond to magnetic fields created by the MRI scanner. These reponses are then detected by some electronics and sensors and the data is feed to computer, where after processing an image is formed. For breast tissue diagnosis , MRI technology is also capable of producing detailed images. MRI technology is good for women having breat cancer, some of the examples are listed below, who can have MRI of breasts, Women who has had breast cancer, Women with a BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutation, who have undergone chest radiation, who have Li-Fraumeni, Cowden, or Bannayan-Riley-Ruvalcaba Syndrome, Breast Implants ,Previously had cancer in their other breast, Dense or Cystic breasts, etc. It is a supplement tool for detecting breast abnormalities.
